[24/7]

I Think of you
You are in my thoughts, in my mind
.. and I'm the only one who can get you out of there

But why are you still there..?
Is the question I ask myself, over and over agian
.. the answer is simple

I have to accept that this is more than only a thought
It's about my feelings for you
They are true..

...I care for you

MOMU EXHIBITION

PART 2:

Last friday I went to the exibition ‘UNRAVEL’ in the MoMu fashion museum in Antwerp. It was very interesting to see how we still use knitwaer after so many years, so yes we could say that knitwaer is a continuing source of inspiration for the designers in the fashionworld.

The exibition shows the important decades of knitwear in fashion by demostrating knitwear’s popularity both on and off the catwalk, and unraveling the changing status of the relationship between knitwear and fashion. It was very interesting to see how the various roles knitwear has played in social and fashion (r)evolutions.

For the scenography of the exhibition and the knitted items in the entrance hall, MOMU worked together with partners from the knitwearindustry. Designers of the so-called 'Phat Knits' (large knitted designelements), Bauke Knottnerus from Rotterdam, created some new and unique pieces for the scenography of the exhibition: an enlarged knitwear in the entrance and an enlarged seat-element.

If you haven't been to UNRAVEL don't worry, the exhibition will be there till 14/08/2011. And after seeing the exhibition you can enjoy shopping around the Nationalestraat or on the Meir.

Also good to know is, after UNRAVEL the next exhibition will be about Walter van Beirendonck (one of the Antwerp six)..

UNRAVEL knitwear in fashion

PART 1

INTRO:
The exhibition begins with an introduction of three designers who have a special bond with knit. They show there work by making three installations. Hilde Frunt & SIGI, mother and son are both passionate about knitting. They have an Knitting studio "Studio Hilde Frunt" that develops many handmade pieces for Belgian designers, and both also have a clothing line that consist entirely of knitwear.

Hilde Frunt and SIGI developed for this exibition an (installation)living room setting, wich emphasizes the intimate family atmosphere in wich they create garments. The installation consists of three silhouettes and several covers for interior items in their own style.

I would like to know what you think of my video, so feel free to leave a comment. For more information and pictures of this exhibition, see my next post..
