I am Joyce Sitaram, 26 years old and live in Dordrecht, which is a city in South Holland. When I was a young girl I loved crafts, drawing and painting because I was very creative and I had a lot of energy inside me, so this was my way of letting it go. I was always occupied with anything and everything around me, concentrating was the hardest thing for me and it always brought me in trouble.But when I was doing my crafts I was in trance and nobody could bother me or get me out of my concentration, I went to myself, my inner peace. A place where I felt safe, a place where I could be me and let my feelings and emotions free.
After high school I really wanted to go to art school, but that was not so simple because you had to show you talent and what you’re capable of by showing your work/portfolio. On Willem de Kooning Academy (art school) I followed Fashion Design. At the Academy I had the chance to really discover my passion for fashion and learn more about art history (my favourite course) and art culture. It was nice to let my creativity loose and therefore I have learned a lot about myself as a person and artist. For me it was neccesary to learn how to deal with my emotions and how to translate this into my work.
After 3 years art school I felt that there was something missing, yes I was creative and I did make beautiful and interesting things, but I thought that it was important to not only be creative but also be a business women by knowing the ins and outs of marketing, communication and the finacial side of having your own label or company. That is why I am studying Marketing Management and Economics.
I want to show more of myself and my work so I started this blog under the name “undiscoverd inspiration”. I want to inspire other people by telling my story through out my work and text and find recognition.
